Inauguration Day 2021

I have a bad feeling about the United States Inauguration Day 2021.  Personally, I think Rep. Nancy Pelosi needs to be in California that day.  This is because Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden are sworn in during the same ceremony, one right after the other, which means they are in the same place, at the same time.

Speaker of the House Pelosi is next in the chain of command, should shit happen.

Lunatics willing to storm the Capital Building are willing to plant Very Large Bombs in DC that day, possibly nuclear, if the lunatics can get ahold of them.  They're batshit crazy enough to consider everyone in DC - especially the "anti-Trump" Republicans - to be a "traitor," and President Trump (sexual predator, traitor) has already announced he won't be there, so their demagogue isn't there to be a meat shield.

I really want the day to go well, with no violence anywhere.  But, I doubt it will, and the GOP will be there afterwards to fuck America more.

Gun Owners: Now is your time to rise and Resist Trump. The irony.

Dear "I need a gun in case the government becomes a tyranny" gun owners. The time has come. Ironic that many of you are so deeply confused, that you're actually part of the problem, worshipping Trump, and awaiting your "call to arms" to help him stage his coup d'etat.

Gun Theory: Fashion over Function

What kind of gun is this? Is it worth crap? I'm far from an expert, but that thing looks like something built to look cool, while being dirt cheap to mass produce for people too dumb to distinguish "looks cool" from "actually useful."

Someone told me a story yesterday of an altercation her son had with her new husband. After "heated words," the next time her son came over, he was wearing his gun.

That is to say, her son, who had been an amateur boxer, did regular weight-lifting, felt so threatened by a man 30 years older than him, who had never in his life used a gun, that her son had to wear his gun to her house as a threat display.

You know what that says to me? Gun owners are chickenshit sissies. That's what it says to me. They need to grow some ovaries, woman-up, and not be so chickenshit.

Americans love guns more than children

(Since G+ is getting nuked, I'm dumping comments to posts, so maybe they'll stay around a bit. I only semi-care about formatting right now, since I'm depressed G+ is getting nuked.)

The problem in the US, though, is that the "passion" for "freedom" and gun ownership has crossed the line into sheer madness.

The link is not, in fact, "false." False requires the facts to be wrong, which they aren't, and the premise is a persuasive argument that Americans love their guns more than their children, which she makes a compelling argument for, given that every time school children are mass-murdered by gun-toting lunatics, the response is "More guns! More guns!" which is exactly as stupid as shouting "Throw gasoline on that fire!"

In the vein of "madness," I'll point out that it is nearly impossible to get any kind of legislation passed limiting the number of firearms in the US, or if unhealthy people should be allowed to own them, because every time something is suggested - for example, that concerned family members can petition a judge to confiscate firearms from people diagnosed with mental illness, and the judge has to review the request, and approve it, before anything can be done about taking guns away from the mentally ill person (California) - are painted as "gummint wants to take guns from veterans" - which is total misrepresentation, fear-mongering, and adds to the insanity of gun owners calling in death threats to anyone who speaks out against loose firearm laws. (It happens.)

That's not "freedom loving" - it's madness.

"Freedom loving" would be gun owners stepping up to say "You know what? One of the reasons I own a gun is because I want to be able to shoot back. Why the fuck are there so many guns out there that I have to be afraid of them in the first place? Why the fuck are lunatics allowed to buy guns?"

Instead, the shouting is always "More guns! More guns!" As if, "more guns" somehow makes things better? That's like saying "The best way to cure illegal drug addiction is more illegal drugs!" or "The solution to being fat is to eat more!"

Instead, the question needs to be "Why the fuck are there so many guns out there, and how do we stop insane people from having guns? How to we stop children being mass-murdered by guns? How do we stop nightclub or movie theater massacres with guns?" (Note, that in many of those "mass shootings," there were people among the victims with guns, and those guns didn't mean jack shit, so let's be clear that "more guns" is not solving any problems, but it is resulting in more gun deaths.)

Why do politicians and public figures get death threats when they suggest "less guns means less gun deaths," but no one is receiving death threats for dumping more guns onto the streets?

So, my message to gun owners is: "Clean up your own damn house, people, and you won't have to deal with outsiders having to clean up after you."

American Values: Guns over Education

"We should have more guns in schools."
"We should allow college students to carry guns on campus."
"We need to cut teacher salaries."
"We need to cut public school funding."

THESE are not bullshit headlines.  They're fucking American "values."
Americans - as a national class of idiots - have their priorities screwed up.

Irony of the Second Amendment

Isn't it ironic that the Second Amendment of the US Constitution was written by a group of elite, college educated, wealthy liberals?

After consulting several scholars and other sources, we found that -- with some exceptions -- central figures in the nation’s founding generally came from privileged backgrounds, attended college at a time when very few people did and, by 1776, were prominent and wealthy.

They were, apparently, also mostly fucking geniuses, which puts them several levels of brainpower above the average gun owner, and way above the average ammosexual.

(Yes, I did just distinguish average gun owners from ammosexuals. There is a huge difference, and average gun owners reading this can now take a deep breath and quit being offended snowflakes because I used the word "ammosexuals" at all.)

Gun ownership by education level.  Interestingly, it's pretty spread out. I'd really be curious to see the demographic breakdown of "number of guns by education level" - the stereotype is the less educated hoarde guns out of fear of "da evil people," but what is reality?

Reality?  Reality is that the Second Amendment to the US Constitution was written by people smarter, better educated, and wealthier (at the time of the writing) than any damn fool worshiping the Second Amendment today.

Did you ever Google "meme about 2a"?
Yeah, don't.

Dear God, the Stupid is exceeded only by the self-congratulatory arrogance.

But, hey, you know, Guns Make People Special, right?

Yeah, that's what I thought.  "More equal than the feminist movement."  Yeah. Special Snowflake Gun Owners don't understand what feminism means, because ammosexuals are really just chickenshits, who don't really respect women, but they like to congratulate themselves for being Special and Precious.

Say Their Names - Call Domestic Terrorists What They are

Jane Smith wrote

It seems likely that the Domestic Terrorist label is deep and wide throughout our nation at this time in our history...almost to the point of civil war. The neo Nazi culture is growing and with the help of the NRA are disguised as "patriotic".

We have to redo the dialogue and speak the language of the TRUTH. 'Bump stocks, lunatics, background checks, arm the teachers" is the language of Trump, which is fascist rhetoric.

#Saytheirnames is what we need to use . We need to call the school shooters Armed Militia Youth. We need to ask questions to Congress and the establishment that are more Truthful. Like "Are you for or against students being killed while at school by Domestic Terrorists armed with Military Assault Weapons?" We need to ask Trump "Are you for or against groups of people and children being killed in publics areas by Armed Terrorists using Military Assault Weapons?" This is not a conversation about lunatics and Bump stocks, it is a conversation about how to stop an uprising of Hate and Violence by Organized Domestic Terrorists in America.

Gun owners give gun owners a bad rep

Um, yeah.  So, first the meme is full of shit, and clearly constructed for a particular Kool-Aid drunk audience.  I pulled this from a G+ thread, which I am totally unclear how it came up on my feed, anyway, but there you go.

But, the kicker for me was the comments section.  These are exactly the kind of people I don't feel safe letting them own guns.

Own a gun, I don't care. Just don't be an asshole about it.

I've found myself repeating this mantra a lot lately. Probably a combo of things, but really it all comes down to Parkland, Florida, and how the GOP in Florida are telling students to shut up, even while making it _easier_ for people to buy guns in Florida. And fucking _President_ Trump (barf in my mouth) is saying teachers should carry guns.

Only political drunks arm teachers and deny the need to ban assault weapons

Regulated Militia means what, again?

Way back in 2015, I posed this question about this meme:

When they said "regulated militia," weren't they referring to what has essentially become the National Guard?

I want to pose that again, because I will likely get a different perspective, now after a year of President Trump (barf in my mouth), and I'm really curious what people know and think about the question, especially under Trump's New World Order.

Live Stream School Shooting - fix the fucking illness!

Now school massacres are being fucking live streamed? Death is again a spectator sport? I'm not fucking kidding!!

Next week the kid will have a GoPro and Twitch feed.

Next month the kid will have a "selfie drone" and a Twitch feed.

Shut the fuck up about guns!

Why the fuck are school kids going absolutely goddamn insane and murdering people the see every day?

What the fuck is now systemically wrong with American society that this keeps happening every damn week??

Gun Bunnies: You're Scarring the Kids

My friend's 5 year-old daughter was terrified about going to a school assembly this week; the kid didn't want to get shot.

A kindergartener was afraid of getting shot at school.  Let that sink in.

It's a Gun, Not a Condom 10: Fear is not Freedom

Daphne Sylk wrote:

This is an exact example of the curse of 'ideals'. Ideals put thinking in a box, only what's inside the box is acceptable. That eventually collides with rationality. Unfortunately, rationality is only partial at best, emotions drive the human mind and emotions create ideals.

The idea of guns as a pillar of freedom is exactly wrong.

A man carrying a weapon for 'protection' isn't free, only scared, otherwise he wouldn't feel the need for protection. Fear is not freedom.

Guns are not protection, particularly considering the number of accidents and suicides. Most trained cops miss targets more than they hit, and that from six feet or less. The average paper popping citizen is more of a menace than a source of protection.

Imagine, if you will, that all the people at the concert in Vegas had been armed. How would that have changed what the shooter did? It wouldn't, those poor people didn't even know where the shots were coming from.

That's why strict regulation is required, because people constantly do things not in their own best interest and certainly not in the best interests of society. If people were remotely rational they wouldn't get so fat, fail tests, take harmful drugs, drive too fast, smoke, gamble, but they do. You can't get most people to make a sensible trip to the dentist once a year.

Since rational self interest is an oxymoron, society has to have rules in place that penalize irrationality. In the case of America, the society is too sick to grasp that their delusional 'ideal' of freedom is
killing them.

Darth Vader, Asshole

Personally, I always thought Darth Vader was kind of an asshole. Sure, he has some major badass style, but I mean, "You've disappointed me for the last time!" (Choke, choke, choke) - what kind of weaksauce idiot manager does that? That's so not going to retain quality talent. Duh.

And, seriously, how much of a special snowflake do you really have to be to bully people who disagree with you?  "I find your lack of faith disturbing," so "I'll choke you and frighten everyone in the room into seeing how big and badass scary I am, because I'm such a snowflake I need people to be afraid of me, all the time!"

Yeah, that's on par with "I took my assault rifle to Wal-Mart to buy cookies, because I'm such a special bullying chicken, I need everyone to see I'm a hardass about my cookies."

Or, maybe, as special snowflake as "I'll sue you for being mean to me! (And then I'll stiff the lawyers on the bill, I'm so hardass!)"

So, yeah. I always thought Vader was kind of an asshole.

Mock the Meme: the NRA trying to sell silencers

I'm totally fine as long as we're really talking about using them for hunting rifles, which is the story the meme is selling.

So, let's all agree to keep pistol suppressors off the market? Since no sane person tries hunting deer or rabbit with just a pistol, anyway, right?

I mean, a pistol as a backup, in case something goes wrong, absolutely, but anyone who wants to shoot the rabbit or deer up close and pistol personal in the first place isn't the kind of person I want having a gun, anyway.

By the way, apparently in the US, there is a $200 application fee to buy a silencer, aka firearm suppressor.  Given that most decent firearms can cost well in excess of $200, oh, boo hoo.  If you want it badly enough, do some paperwork, otherwise don't whine when "the criminals" start flooding the market with suppressors and shooting your "lawful gun owner" ass.

It's called "persuasive argument," and the point is to convince you of an idea. The meme presents the idea of firearm silencers as a good thing that every reasonable person would want.

What the meme deliberately ignores and deliberately misleads you away from is items I touched on above - pistols and all the other reasons silencers are currently illegal. They weren't designed as courtesy features. They were designed as military and killing features - imagine how much harder domestic violence case become when there are fewer witnesses because no one heard the gun shots the day before, so no one called the cops until the body was found long after the assailant fled the state.

This isn't rocket science. There are very good reasons that suppressors are not legal, and the NRA assholes are still selling the same old shit: get everyone terrified, so everyone jumps into the arms race out of terror, and the NRA owners - the gun makers - make shitloads of money off terrified peasants killing each other.

Mocking the Bundy pricks, because they deserve nothing less

Because those Bundy pricks deserve to be mocked and ridiculed at every possible opportunity, I've captured this, so it will live as long as possible (long after Craigslist pulls it).

Also, Cliff Bramlett had this on his wall, so I captured the meme, and below that is what I wrote in response to that meme.

It will increase as long as there are sociopaths who live for power over others. The sociopaths who own the media sculpt the narrative, and sell the bullshit that armed terrorists holding taxpayer property for six weeks, denying taxpayers the ability to use their property, and denying taxpayer-employees the ability to perform the jobs the taxpayers are paying them to do, are somehow "not terrorists," but "merely protesters."

"Protesters" my tight butt. The Bundy clan and their idiotic followers are selfish dung heaps worthy merely of contempt and ridicule. Oh, and dildos. I love how people sent them dildos as care packages while they were illegally occupying American taxpayer property. Dildos for dildos; exactly right.

Let's be real - this is simply going to embolden asshole white domestic terrorists like the Bundy assholes.

Obama forgot to take your guns away

That's fucking awesome, is what that is.

Eight years, #ammosexuals, and you still have all your guns (unless you broke some other law), so get your heads out of your ass.

Now, if you're sitting the offended by my use Of The term "ammosexual" ask yourself "Why?" and then realize that's a choice you've made - to group yourself in, because you don't actually know what I mean by the term.

So ask yourself, why do you consider yourself an ammosexual? And then ask yourself again if you really are.
