Inauguration Day 2021

I have a bad feeling about the United States Inauguration Day 2021.  Personally, I think Rep. Nancy Pelosi needs to be in California that day.  This is because Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden are sworn in during the same ceremony, one right after the other, which means they are in the same place, at the same time.

Speaker of the House Pelosi is next in the chain of command, should shit happen.

Lunatics willing to storm the Capital Building are willing to plant Very Large Bombs in DC that day, possibly nuclear, if the lunatics can get ahold of them.  They're batshit crazy enough to consider everyone in DC - especially the "anti-Trump" Republicans - to be a "traitor," and President Trump (sexual predator, traitor) has already announced he won't be there, so their demagogue isn't there to be a meat shield.

I really want the day to go well, with no violence anywhere.  But, I doubt it will, and the GOP will be there afterwards to fuck America more.

Spreading COVID-19 in the United States

The United States of "You call that a pandemic? Hold my beer!"

I was looking at the CNN COVID-19 spread webpage again today, and got annoyed how the logarithmic chart they use makes it look like the spread is slowing down (not their intention, but most people don't understand logarithmic charts).  So, I dug around to find one that shows it in linear scale, instead.

Then I thought I'd mock it up, to really try to spell it out for the slow kids in the classroom.

Trump Attacks Syria To Distract You

Meanwhile, Donald Trump whips out his big ego and strokes or for everyone to see. He wants the world to see how big and manly he is. He starts a goddamn fucking war with a US ally, turns the world against us, and pushes us all closer to World War III - because he can stroke his ego and 60 fucking missiles annihilate an area the size of a town.

If you support Trump and the GOP - who have waged war on humanity to feed the greed of tiny little savages like the Trump family for decades, then you can fuck off. YOU can sign up yourself and your children and your grandchildren to die for Donald’s ego, for Bannon’s Aryan Dream and to make the elitist rich richer while children starve to death. Stupid Memes: Revisiting 9/11 fools again

What temp does the floor material in-between melt at? The aluminum ductwork has a lower point. What temp does melting plastic rise to? Plaster board? Computer equipment? Aluminum file cabinets? How much do all those things weaken when thousands of gallons of water from ruptured plumbing floods throughout? Or possible explodes the pipes due to sudden vaporization? But, you know, thinking is hard, 9/11 make everyone angry as Hell, and believing in conspiracy theories makes people special.

To hand wave and dismiss 9/11 as a conspiracy theory is to diminish the deaths of thousands of people and the genuinely heroic actions of hundreds of rescue and emergency responders who rushed into the fires a and saved as many people as they could, before dying themselves.

Conspiracy theory throws simple answers at hard problems and makes everything worse.

Grow up and deal with reality. Reality sucks rocks hard enough without making it worse by diminishing it into some childish feel-good fantasy-rama.

Americans suck at complicated thinking. Americans want everything to be black and white, right or wrong, this or not, but it doesn't work that way.  This leads to stupid memes like this one, which presents the idea that it has to be "one or the other, but can't be both."  Wrong. It can be both, and it can be even more complicated than that.  Welcome to the world of grown-ups.

The Primaries got investigated already - it may have been immoral and unethical - but it was legal - that horse sailed, get over it. With the caveat that lessons need to be learned, so it doesn't happen again.

The same goes for GOP suppression of voting - Trump spent all summer bitching the election was "rigged" against him, and then flip-flopped the instant it looked like he'd have an Electoral College win. Voter suppression still needs to be investigated, along with gerrymandering and other bullshit. Again, a lot of this is "legal," but immoral, unethical and total bullshit, by any rational standard.

The Russian connection is illegal and needs to be investigated. Amazing, though, how the New Fuhrer President is doing everything he can to shutdown the investigations - and suppress the due process, and suppress the rule of law.  Even Republican lawmakers want it investigated.

History vs Republican Presidents

Funny thing, history. They say it's "written by the victors," but that isn't really true.  Records tend to remain around, and people dig them up and analyze them, and popular view and understanding of history changes, but history itself always remains the same.

I confess, I'm surprised the number of convictions under Pres Clinton is so low - I mean, fucking Ken Starr blew $45 million taxpayer dollars on a witch hunt, and turned up jack shit - that's incredible.

And I'm surprised the convictions under Pres G.W. Bush (43) were so high - I mean, the GOP keep changing the laws along their sliding scale whenever one of their number gets into trouble, you'd think it was impossible for anyone to get busted under a GOP President.

The right-wing spin media liked to portray Pres Obama as "the most corrupt President ever" - but the truth remains that he ran a clear house. He had too - the entire fucking world was watching the First Black President - if he screwed anything up, it would destroy the future for any woman or person of color who wanted to try to be President.  The really sick thing is that it didn't matter - Americans lost their fucking minds and voted for the KKK candidate.

Women's March 2017

Just to repeat for the slow learners in the room (who, sadly, also like to congratulate themselves for their dull-witted ideas), the Women's March 2017 was never, ever, about trying to change the election results. That ship sailed people, you're the only ones still stuck in the past.

The Women's March 2017 has always been about making sure Trump knows his bullshit stinks and we're not going to sit by while he smears his shit all over the country.

It was one thing when he was bullshitting you slow thinkers - it was kind of funny watching you cheer how good you smelled after wallowing in his bullshit.

But, the game changed, didn't it? Yeah, and you slow-thinkers still haven't caught on to how it changed. Trump isn't going to stop shitting on you. He's going to do it more and harder and to all the rest of us, too

Chase the root cause, dumbass

The other thing to remember is that the "war on drugs" failed. It was an absolute disaster, because money was funneled to the rich wasted by chasing the drugs themselves and never addressing the reasons such people wanted drugs in the first place.

Why do people want drugs? Because it makes them feel better - same reason they want alcohol and porn and gambling and all those other things that are generally fine in small amounts, and destroy lives in large amounts.

"Feel better" is a deliberately  fuzzy term - "stop feeling pain by becoming numb" is a valid definition of "feel better."

Also "enhance performance" is a valid definition - this is why rich people (like Trump) do cocaine - it "energizes" them and helps them "do more faster."

People want things - people gonna get things. History proves this over and over and over (Prohibition anyone?).

Wake up, people, and realize making drugs illegal is a waste of resources.  Make them all legal and then funnel all that money into drug rehab programs, into job training programs, into stress management programs.

But, now you can begin to realize that the point isn't to help people - it's deliberate to keep people down - to control the masses thru moralizism.

It's Class Warfare, Bitches.

Dear Berned - Focus, People, Focus

Oh, probably same as they are now - 30 days late. Only back in the Berner time frame  the circus had moved on, and the news story had shifted to trying to make sure November votes weren't suppressed.

Now, we're in the "Trump is about to fuck your world" stage, where Trump and the GOP - who spent a year rigging elections and screaming about it - are suddenly doing everything they can to suppress recounts and suppress efforts to clean up the voting machinery.

And there is no other circus to distract from trying to figure out of the new President-Elect was helped by Russia or if he is owned by Russia. Which is good, because Trump doesn't actually care about America, but he does care about $600m he owes Russian banks.

Sanders got screwed. The American people got screwed. Let go of the "Sanders" part already, and refocus to the "Lets make sure elections don't get rigged ever again" part.  Otherwise, tweets like this make things worse, not better, by being distractions and focusing on the wrong damn things.

9-11 never forget - 11-9 always regret

Sigh. Some people have described the shock and despair of "11/9/2016" as feeling very much like "9/11/2001" - and frankly, given the nasty, fascist rhetoric of President Trump * during the campaign, anyone who is not white, not Evangelical Christian, and not male, _does have a lot_ to worry about, so the sense of displacement, fear, and "WTF happens next??" is legit. ** BUT - I wrote this piece, and I meant it. The office of the President of the United States demands a certain decorum and respect. It doesn't mean I have to agree with a damn thing President Trump *** wants, and I am free to oppose him at every lawful and ethical opportunity ****, but I will show some respect for the Office. This is going to be a long couple of years.

Mocking the Bundy pricks, because they deserve nothing less

Because those Bundy pricks deserve to be mocked and ridiculed at every possible opportunity, I've captured this, so it will live as long as possible (long after Craigslist pulls it).

Also, Cliff Bramlett had this on his wall, so I captured the meme, and below that is what I wrote in response to that meme.

It will increase as long as there are sociopaths who live for power over others. The sociopaths who own the media sculpt the narrative, and sell the bullshit that armed terrorists holding taxpayer property for six weeks, denying taxpayers the ability to use their property, and denying taxpayer-employees the ability to perform the jobs the taxpayers are paying them to do, are somehow "not terrorists," but "merely protesters." 

"Protesters" my tight butt. The Bundy clan and their idiotic followers are selfish dung heaps worthy merely of contempt and ridicule. Oh, and dildos. I love how people sent them dildos as care packages while they were illegally occupying American taxpayer property. Dildos for dildos; exactly right.

GOP Witch Hunts - Wanking off on your dollar

Because sometimes a witch hunt doesn't deserve more than a couple memes which blow it to shit as the fake ass witch hunt and waste of tax payer dollars it really is.

In 1983, there was a US embassy bombing, and 307 people died (241 of them US Marines). No GOP witch hunt of anyone, especially not Sainted President Reagan, about why this happened.

And what about the "investigations" into President Bush and the failures of his staff?  Oh, wait, there weren't any.

Of course, it's been 30 years since Beirut, and the GOP didn't really prefect the waste-taxpayer-money-on-total-bullshit witch hunts until they wasted $60 million proving President Bill Clinton boinked a consenting adult, in the 1990s.  Well done, assholes.  That's $60 million the American people won't get back.
